I woke up a bit late again and checked all my emails from my room and noticed an email from Chris saying another hard drive in the raid array had failed so I immediately backed up all my photo’s on the file server just in case. Well it was bloody lucky I did as three hours later the whole file server crashed and we lost all data. If I didn’t back up my photos when I did I would have lost 90% of them.
Several servers went down also and we lost a lot of vital systems. Chris and I spent the rest of the day working with the guy’s in Kingston on the problem and it could be days or even weeks before things are back to normal and even if we are really lucky, all data in the past four weeks will be lost.
